What kind of fast food could I ever recommend? The kind that will make your hair shine and your complexion glow.
You can make easy and enormously healthful choices every day that will make a real difference in the way you feel and look. Yes, your appearance, mood, and stamina are directly tied to the nutrients you take in.
In this and future health tips, we’ll spotlight some of my favorite fast foods and offer a few quick-prep ideas to make them easy to fold into your meal plan.
Pre-washed organic baby spinach is one of the best buys at your grocery. It’s loaded with antioxidants, and eating it regularly is an effective anti-aging strategy. Antioxidants work against free radicals, which harm your DNA and cause disease. Spinach protects you from sight-robbing conditions like age-related macular degeneration and cataracts, limits inflammation, and reduces your risks for a variety of cancers.
How is spinach a fast food?
• Instant salad Open the bag and pour into a bowl. Add an extra virgin olive oil and vinegar dressing and you’re done, or add raisins, veggies, nuts, roasted red peppers, or chopped apple or pear. Enjoy spinach in a salad most days.
• Hot veggie Place a few large handfuls of spinach in a glass bowl and cover with a paper towel. Microwave for a minute or two, remove, and add a capful of extra virgin olive oil and a spritz of lemon or lime. Toss with a few capers and some fresh ground pepper.
• Chop chop OK, for this one you need a knife. Chop two handfuls of spinach and add a drained and rinsed can of kidney beans. Add a tablespoon or two of feta cheese, a few drops of red vinegar, and a capful or two of extra virgin olive oil. Toss in a few dried or fresh herbs like basil or oregano. Enjoy immediately or chill for later.
You need to eat some fat with your spinach for your body to take up all the beneficial properties of this magnificent vegetable. Keep the extra virgin olive oil handy. In addition to being flavorful, it will help lower your bad cholesterol.
