In these days of distancing, more clients are connecting with me via phone or Skype for remote sessions. Even before the pandemic, some clients who had the option of seeing me in person opted for remote sessions. They’ve reported that it’s beneficial to be able to connect with me from the comfort of their own homes.
Let’s look at the healing techniques I use:
—Healing Touch is an energy therapy in which practitioners consciously use their hands in a heart-centered and intentional way to support and facilitate physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. Healing Touch is a biofield (magnetic field around the body) therapy, an energy-based approach to health and healing. Read more about Healing Touch here.
—Shamanic healing is the oldest form of spirituality and healing on the planet, dating back 25,000 years. The essential perspective of shamanism is that everything is alive and has its own spirit and awareness. Energy and matter are the same, and everything that exists is connected to everything else in a web of energy and life. Our health and well-being depend on being in harmony with this web. Read more about Shamanic Healing here.
For some people it’s a stretch to consider that healing can occur over great distances. Yet according to the Institute of Noetic Sciences, studies in quantum theory suggest the fabric of the universe is non-local, which allows action at a distance. In other words, “mind and matter may be fundamentally inseparable.” Click here to read more.
I’ve done remote healing sessions with people from around the globe, including Australia, France, England, Canada, and across the US. The key ingredients involve the healer holding her attention and focusing her intention and compassion while administering methods that help clear and balance energy to support the healing process.
A colleague of mine described it as “making an energetic house call.” And it works.
A client I’ll call Jodie experienced what I know to be the beautiful truth about universal energy: it transcends time and space and is always available to heal body, mind, and spirit.
Jodie’s story
Jodie had been struggling with chronic gastrointestinal issues when she first came to see me nearly a year ago. She was also experiencing high stress levels because of a toxic work environment. Although her symptoms were severe, she was afraid to let her employer know how sick she was, which only exacerbated her symptoms.
Eventually Jodie began working from home, but the work stress continued. In our weekly in-person Healing Touch sessions, we focused on alleviating the stress and physical discomfort, as well as diving into some deeper issues having to do with self-love. Over time, even though her symptoms persisted, Jodie was finding some relief, and at an intuitive level she had the sense that our work was helping her.
“I can’t explain it, but I feel as if we’re on the right track,” she said. She was feeling better about herself and had found the strength to begin the arduous task of interviewing for another job.
When Jodie learned that I would be out of town, she was disappointed and concerned that she would stop making progress. I suggested we do a remote healing session, but she was reluctant.
I understood her hesitation. Remote healing isn’t a familiar concept for many people. Also, Jodie felt a direct connection with me during our weekly in-person sessions that she feared would be lost if we were talking over the phone.
But the truth is that whenever I work with a client I’m working energetically, which means it doesn’t matter if we are physically together or not.
Nonetheless, Jodie wasn’t sure about remote healing, so we scheduled our next appointment when I would be back in the office in three weeks. I reminded her that she’d always been diligent about using affirmations and Healing Touch self-care practices that clear density from the energy field and encouraged her to continue with these. I knew this would help her feel empowered to access her own innate healing potential. I also reassured her that she could contact me if she needed anything.
A week later, I received an email from Jodie. She’d been offered a new job in an office setting and she was terrified. “What if I become ill again? Will I have the energy required? How will I get the proper wardrobe?” Her concerns loomed large. Jodie told me she was ready to try a remote session.
We agreed to use Skype so that she could see me during our session. She made herself comfortable while I tuned in to her energetic body and began Healing Touch. When I was finished, I saw Jodie sit up and put her hands on her heart.
“Wow,” she said, “That was amazing. This session went really deep and I connected with an important insight. I realize that I’m trying to control too much. I need to let go and trust that everything will work out. Not only that, it’s really nice to be able to receive this work and not have to leave home!”
How Can Healing Touch and Shamanic Healing help you today?
A few weeks ago I decided to work exclusively from a remote setting. This has enabled me to provide continuity of care for my current clients and connect with new clients who are interested in trying energy healing. Tangible benefits include relief from pain, anxiety, and worry. Clients have reported feeling more centered, grounded, and resilient.
You can arrange a remote session with me by contacting WholeHealth Chicago at 773-296-6700.
Together, we’ll move through these challenging times.
